I’m an MC, stand-up comedian and writer with 46 years’ experience at life, some parenting and the odd career in journalism, communications and events under my belt. In 2019, after seven years in comedy, I was given the title of Best Newcomer at the Sydney Comedy Festival and performed for the troops in Iraq.
In 2020, I was due to be touring my new festival show I thought it would be nice in Brisbane, Canberra, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney, but we all know what has happened to life in 2020, so I’ll be trying to do more online. If you haven’t already, please join me on social media so I can bombard you with an old lady’s antics.
Just so you know, I prefer live work and have had some great gigs to date. In 2019, I performed in the Sydney Comedy Festival Opening Night Gala (Enmore Theatre) and Closing Night Gala (Sydney Town Hall), entertained Australian troops in Iraq and opened for international comedy stars Ronny Chieng and Demetri Martin (US) at the Canberra Theatre. I was selected to be in the Sydney Comedy Festival’s Fresh Program of up and coming Australian comedians to watch. I have toured NSW, Queensland, the Northern Territory and Tasmania as part of the Sydney Comedy Festival Showcase. Previously, I’ve had the pleasure of performing multiple times in the Canberra Comedy Festival Gala and Fearless Comedy Galas for charity as well as doing sets at TEDxCanberra and Floriade Nightfest.
“She seems to be one of those rare comedians that are so good at what they do, and so comfortable doing it, that they make comedy seem easy. She commanded the attention of the room effortlessly; she evoked waves of laughter without so much as a sweat.” BMA Magazine (May 2019)
“Chris was in total control from the moment she hit the stage, a comedian with a unique outlook and broad appeal.” Justin Hamilton, Head Writer Show Me the Movie (Network Ten)
“Unapologetic and ruthlessly clever, one of Canberra’s funniest people.” Sydney Comedy Festival Showcase Tour (2018)
I’m always looking for new gigs and opportunities to expand my work into new media so if you have a podcast, radio, tv or other presenting or panelist gig please be in touch, I’d love to hear from you.
Unfortunately, due to the Pandemic, the monthly comedy room I have been running, Beyond Comedy in Weston Creek on the last Friday of each month is now suspended indefinitely.
Eventually, I will list gigs again on my gigs page and all Canberra comedy gigs will also be listed on the Comedy ACT website.
